Registration and Preliminary Selection Procedure:
1. Registration Process:
Candidates can register either through the internet or by visiting Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCS). The procedure is as follows:
- Registration through Internet:
Candidates can register online at www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk. The date and time of the test will be communicated via email, so candidates must have a working email account. Candidates must report on the exact date and time specified on their computerized roll number slip. Test dates cannot be changed. Basic computer knowledge is required, as registration and tests will be conducted on computers.
2. Preliminary Selection:
- Written/Intelligence Tests:
The tests will consist of multiple-choice questions from:- English
- Mathematics
- Pakistan Studies
- Islamiat
- General Knowledge
Candidates who pass these tests will undergo physical/medical tests and interviews at AS&RCS.
3. Physical Tests:
Candidates must meet the following physical fitness standards to proceed next process:

| Crunches | 20 repetitions in 2 minutes |

Passing all events is mandatory. Failure in any event will result in being considered a Physical Test (PT) failure, and the candidate will not receive the Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) form.
4. Interview:
Candidates who clear the written, medical, and physical tests will be interviewed by Selection and Recruitment Officers (S&ROs) and a Psychologist.
Interview Process:
Candidates must write a short essay (10 lines) in both English and Urdu before the interview. The topic will be displayed on a board in the exam room. Evaluation criteria include:
- Expression and confidence in English and Urdu
- Knowledge of current affairs
- Knowledge of geography and Pakistan Studies
- Overall outlook
- Extracurricular activities (sports, hobbies)
- Any other relevant aspects deemed appropriate by the panel
Each candidate will receive a score out of 20, and a score below 12 will be considered a failure.
5. Module-based Selection for ISSB:
The preliminary selection for ISSB will follow a module-based system, including:
