Traveling is a part of life, and Islam teaches Muslims to begin every journey by remembering Allah for safety and blessings. The Safar Ki Dua (Travel Dua) is a beautiful supplication recited before starting any journey — whether short or long. It expresses gratitude to Allah for giving us the means of travel and seeks His protection throughout the trip. By reciting this dua, a believer entrusts their safety, comfort, and success to Allah alone. It reminds us that while we may control our actions, only Allah controls the outcome and destination. Teaching and practicing this dua helps instill faith, mindfulness, and peace before setting out on any journey.

Safar Ki Dua – Travel Supplication

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ

Transliteration: Subhanalladhi sakh-khara lana haatha wa ma kunna lahu muqrineen. Wa inna ila Rabbina la munqalibun.

اردو ترجمہ: پاک ہے وہ ذات جس نے ہمارے لیے اس (سواری) کو مسخر کیا اور ہم اس پر قادر نہ تھے۔ اور بے شک ہمیں اپنے رب کی طرف لوٹنا ہے۔

Translation

Glory to Him Who has brought this (vehicle) under our control, though we were unable to control it. And indeed, to our Lord we are to return.

Meaning: This supplication is recited when beginning a journey or boarding a vehicle. It acknowledges Allah’s power in providing us with means of transportation that we could not have controlled on our own. It also reminds us of our ultimate return to Allah, keeping our journey in perspective of our final destination in the Hereafter.
