Translation

Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
Meaning: This is the Islamic greeting (Salam) that Muslims use when meeting each other. It is a prayer for peace, mercy, and blessings from Allah upon the person being greeted. The response to this greeting is “Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu” (And upon you be peace and the mercy of Allah and His blessings). This greeting establishes a bond of brotherhood and goodwill between Muslims.
