This is to inform all students about the FER-1, FER-2, and Fail policy at Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad. In case a student fails in a course exam for the first time, they will be given FER-1, which allows them to reappear for the exam and try to improve their performance. If a student fails for the second time in the same course, they will be given FER-2, which is the final opportunity to pass the course. However, if a student fails in both FER-1 and FER-2, they will be considered to have failed the course and will have to re-enroll in the course for the next semester. This re-enrollment will include completing all the necessary assignments, workshops, and exams.

Difference Between FER-1, FER-2, and Fail at Allama Iqbal Open University

1. FER-1 (First Reappear Chance)
FER-1 means that a student has failed their exam for the first time in a particular course. They are given a First Reappear Chance, where they can appear for the exam again. This chance gives the student an opportunity to try again and achieve success in the course.
2. FER-2 (Second Reappear Chance)
FER-2 means that a student has failed their exam for the second time in the same course. They are provided a Second Reappear Chance, where they can attempt the exam once more. This is the final opportunity given to the student to succeed in the course.
3. Fail
If a student fails to pass both the FER-1 and FER-2 chances, they are considered to have failed the course. Failing means the student will need to re-enroll in the course and complete it again, including the following: – Assignments – Workshops – Exams
